Sobell fit for purpose
• ONE of the first things I did after being selected as Conservative parliamentary candidate for Islington North was to visit the Sobell Centre. I found the staff friendly and enthusiastic and the facilities quite excellent (I was particularly impressed by the equipment and space in the disabled changing area).
Even if the plans for redevelopment have been shelved owing to the current appalling economic conditions, it will be essential for a close eye to be kept on any future plans. Once again, many congratulations to the people who work so hard to run the Sobell Centre.
