Cameras film dog attack

FOUR men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and animal cruelty after CCTV camera operators spotted a Staffordshire bull terrier being beaten.
The arrests were made following a knifepoint robbery in Hornsey Road, Holloway, on Wednesday. The 20-year-old victim was struck on the head before robbers made off with his mobile phone and pet dog.
Just over an hour later CCTV operators working for Homes for Islington reported seeing a group of men kicking and punching a dog on the Harvist estate in Holloway. Police chased four men, who were held in custody.
The four were held over the robbery, animal cruelty allegations and three further robberies, believed to have taken place between April 20 and 21 in Parkhurst Road, Hornsey Street and Eden Grove, Holloway. A dog has been recovered and returned to its owner.
