Double shooting: Police investigating possible link

DETECTIVES are investigating whether a shooting in Archway on Sunday is linked an incident that took place two days earlier in Tufnell Park.
Armed police were called to the Brecknock Road estate in Anson Road on Friday after shots were fired into a family’s home at around 11.30pm, shattering the windows. The suspect then ran off towards Pleshy Road where he jumped in the back of small dark car and was driven off in the direction of Carleton Road.
Yesterday (Thursday), neighbours said the home belonged to a family of six children and their mother who have since been moved to a safe house by police. The following day a man in his 20s from the Holloway area was stopped in Torriano Avenue and arrested for being in possession of gun. He is thought to be connected with the shooting and was bailed to return to a police station next month.
On Sunday a man was shot in the arm and torso as he walked along Salisbury Walk behind the New Brunswick Public House. He was discharged from hospital on Wednesday. Locals described the area as a forgotten “dumping ground” that needed better policing.
A similar shooting took place on the same estate last year.
There have been no arrests and no weapons have been found. Trident, the so-called black-on-black police unit, are investigating.
Police have appealed for witnesses.
