Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 April 2009

Secret venue for Israeli Army show that was too hot for theatre

• ISLINGTON Friends of Yibna helped organise a campaign calling for the boycott of a London entertainment event featuring soldiers from the Israeli Army, organised by the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland at Bloomsbury Theatre, linked to University College London.
The Zionist Federation compared the show to the BBC 1970s comedy It Ain’t Half Hot Mum. The campaign succeeded and the event was cancelled. However, it has been re-arranged at a secret north London location. To paraphrase a more enlightened BBC comedy, I can’t believe there is a funny side to this grotesque celebration after the slaughter of hundreds of women and children in Gaza by the very same Israeli Army.
Rob Langlands
Secretary, Islington Friends of Yibna
