Mugger’s attack ‘life-changing’

A MUGGER beat up a woman after stopping her to ask for directions.
The 31-year-old victim was attacked outside Tyndale Mansions in Upper Street just before midnight two weeks ago.
The woman was walking towards Angel Tube station when a man stopped her to ask for directions. She answered and continued walking but he grabbed her from behind, covered her mouth, pushed her to the ground and repeatedly punched her in the face.
The attacker, believed to be in his 30s, grabbed the woman’s bag and ran off. The victim flagged down a passing car and the driver called the police. She was taken to University College Hospital in Bloomsbury, where she was treated for facial injuries and allowed home the same day.
Detective Constable Juliet Bird, from Islington CID, said: “This brutal attack has had a life-changing effect on the victim. We are appealing to anyone in the area at the time to come forward and assist police in this investigation.” Anyone with information can call 0207 421 0220 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
