Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 20 March 2009

The Age of Stupid

• LAST week, the Highways Agency announced it will switch the lights off on sections of the motorway around Bristol at night.
It might be unpopular but it is essential if we are to reduce carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050.
Yet, locally we are moving in the opposite direction. We are switching our lights on in the day.
Transport for London’s state-of-the-art cycle park at Finsbury Park is lit 24 hours. Apparently, the CCTV cameras don’t work properly even in bright sunlight.
We must be in the Age of Stupid.
