Sadie Frost
Sadie’s call to support your local high street

ACTRESS and clothes designer Sadie Frost has urged shoppers to buy local and help to support their high street.
Ms Frost owns a shop in Camden Passage, Angel, which she recently had to refinance as customers cut back on luxury clothing.
She told the Tribune: “The credit crunch is affecting everybody.
“It is hard times – no one is selling things.
“You can notice the difference in shops and restaurants near my home. We are all affected.”
She said her own business, which she runs with her partner Jemima French, a former Parliament Hill school pupil – is well placed to come out of the downturn.
And she insisted that reports of her business being in trouble were exaggerated.
“People said we had closed down a few months ago, which was wrong,” she added.
“We had to look at the business.
“It was just before the credit crunch, but it was good then because we refinanced ourselves, which has made us stronger.”
Ms Frost, who lives in Primrose Hill, said that she gets inspiration for her clothes from close to home, and hopes that the clothes shops and restaurants of Regent’s Park Road are not hit too heavily by the downturn.
She said: “There are some very interesting people walking down the street and it helps me as a designer.”
