Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 13 February 2009

Boris’s big slip-up

• I KNOW the Tories haven’t had a councillor in Islington for more than 20 years, but you’d think their deputy chairman, Simon Toms, would know that their mayor, Boris, is responsible for maintaining Upper Street, not the council (Pedestrians left to slip to shops on icy pavements, February 6).
Upper Street, Holloway Road and City Road (all managed by the mayor’s Transport for London) were disaster areas even last Wednesday. I was on the phone to TfL reminding them to clear roads and pavements of snow and ice. Maybe Mr Toms should redirect his letter to his friend Boris?
