Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 09 January 2009

Marching orders

• I WOULD like to congratulate our local police for getting two dispersal zones agreed in Junction ward.
The zones will cover the Girdlestone estate in Archway and a larger area covering the Tremlett Grove estate and an area on the other side of Junction Road. Dispersal zones mean that if a group is gathered in that particular area and they are involved in anti-social behaviour or are causing trouble or problems for others at the location they can be told by a police officer or police community support officer to disperse, leave the area and/or not return for up to 24 hours.
I am sure local people who have been troubled by anti-social behaviour will welcome this move – and we must redouble our efforts to find alternative activities for young people.
CLLR JANET BURGESS
Labour, Junction ward
