‘Put park dogs back on leash’

UNLEASHED dogs have angered park users.

Residents who live near newly refurbished Duncan Terrace Gardens in Angel are furious at a change in the park’s rules allowing dogs to roam freely without a lead unless their owners are told otherwise by a warden.
At last week’s full Islington Council meeting, Labour councillor Martin Klute presented a petition calling for tighter regulations on dogs in the gardens.
He said: “It would appear the dog control orders aren’t very much better. The residents of Duncan Terrace are very unhappy.”
He said they wished to share the gardens with dogs but wanted the council to reinstate the rule insisting that dogs remain on leads at all times.
He added: “Under the new regulations they can be off the lead.
“Duncan Terrace residents wish to reinstate the dogs-on-lead rule so children can play in the park as well.”
