‘Build’ your own book

ASPIRING young authors can build their own books at an event at Islington Arts Factory next Saturday (December 6).
The day is designed to teach children to write and illustrate their own book, which will then be professionally published.
Cameron Kennedy, a member of Build-a-Book UK – a group of volunteers whose mission it is to put books published by children into every Islington school library – said: “The object of Build-a-Book Day is to turn children into authors by having each child publish their own book.
“A free copy of their professionally published book is included in the £25 entry fee and more can be ordered in time for Christmas.”

• Build-a-book will be held on December 6 at Islington Art Factory, Parkhurst Road from 12pm to 5pm. Call Virginia Gordon to book on 07971 954 123.
