Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 07 November 2008

A race for rainforest

• WITH the continuing rise in carbon emissions, and the weak promises by the government to effectively tackle the problem, it is heartening to see that individuals are still committed to raising awareness of climate change locally, nationally and internationally.
On Sunday, I was privileged to be one of hundreds of Islington runners in a field of 2,500 taking part in the Rainforest 10k race in Finsbury Park, raising money for the Rainforest Foundation.
Readers who may be interested in learning more about this excellent charity, or supporting its work, can visit the website www.rainforest
foundationuk.org or call 0800 970 1014.
Cllr Greg Foxsmith
Lib Dem executive member for the environment
