‘Graduation day’ for hard-working class of summer ’08

ISLINGTON’S youngest ‘graduates’ were honoured this week.
More than 500 young people who took part in Summer University courses this year received certificates at London Metropolitan University in Holloway on Monday.
The Summer University, organised by Islington Council, offered more than 90 free courses, giving young people the chance to learn skills ranging from motor mechanics to street dance.
Lib Dem children’s chief Councillor Ursula Woolley said: “It was fantastic to see so many young people having a good time and learning new skills at the Islington Summer University.
“This year more young people than ever took part.”
