Flagging up Olympic hopes

ISLINGTON Town Hall is already flying the flag for the 2012 Olympics.
Lib Dem council leader James Kempton and leisure chief Councillor Ruth Polling hoisted the flag bearing the London 2012 logo to raise awareness of the opportunities the Olympics will bring for Islington.
Cllr Polling said: “We want the 2012 games to be about more than just elite sport. We want them to bring opportunities for young people and those in the most deprived communities.”
Islington-based dance company Candoco accompanied footballer David Beckham at the ceremonial handing-over of the Olympic flag in Beijing last month.
