Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 29 August 2008

Gap-year freedom

• AS the dust settles after A-level results and people are wondering what step to take next, I would recommend a free UK gap year. I volunteered with Agents4Change, a campaign run by CSV and supported by Tesco and V, the youth volunteering charity.

I gained experience in youth work, project management, marketing and media. I got to enjoy the freedom of living away from home without having to spend a fortune as CSV paid living and travel expenses.
CSV also offers gap-year volunteering opportunities supporting young offenders, homeless people and adults with learning difficulties as well as helping people with physical disabilities lead independent lives.
