Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 22 August 2008

Go easy on drivers

• I FIND it a difficult pill to swallow when I read “Police urged to step back for Ramadan” (August 15). Mohamed Nacer stressed he wants police to pursue their duty in the prevention of crime but to do it in a more sensitive and caring manner. I agree entirely.
Now may I make a plea – nothing religious. Would traffic wardens start to realise drivers are in most cases doing an honest day’s work, especially delivery drivers. I have seen a man parked in a side-turning loading a trolley to push it a couple of hundred yards to deliver goods and before he’s even started a parking ticket is issued.
