Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 22 August 2008

Care home deaths

• QUESTIONS have to be answered before the issue of the care home residents left dead in their beds for days is closed and forgotten (MP calls for probe into care home deaths, August 8).
Why was a doctor not called out to certify death until the weekend had passed?
Should a post-mortem not have been ordered in the circumstances?
Why was the health and safety of staff and residents not considered?
Is this case the first one to be “outed” or is this common practice? What about others who pass away alone and without a friend or relative?
