We need to know
• AS a counciI tax-payer, I support calls for an open inquiry into the matters set out in Roisin Gadelrab’s article (Mystery over official’s big exit pay-off, August 1).
If Islington Council has followed its own equal opportunities and employment policies properly, there should be no problem with agreeing to an inquiry, and spelling out what exactly its reasons for suspending Vernal Scott were, and what “controversy over the ordering of electrical equipment with town hall funds” means.
