Arrest after woman is found dead

FRIENDS and neighbours paid tribute this week to a popular cleaner and mother of a 14-year-old boy who was found dead at her home in Archway.
The woman known as “Penny”, aged 39, was found dead in her flat at Levison Way, off St John’s Way, on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers forced entry to the premises and found the body of the woman who had suffered serious injuries.
A 43-year-old man was arrested at the address in connection with the death but was taken by ambulance to an east London hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are investigating but say that at this stage they are “open minded” as to a motive.
A post mortem was being arranged.
Meanwhile, neighbours placed floral tributes and cards on the pavement close to where she lived. They included flowers and a card from Acland Burghley school, in Kentish Town.
Another card read: “Rest in peace Penny – we will take care of your baby”, thought to refer to her son.
A friend, Vanessa, said: “Penny was one of those really caring people.
“She would always help out. Nothing was too difficult for her. I’m really sad.”
