Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 11 April 2008

Spatial awareness

• I’D like to thank Chris Roche for his letter about a parking collector who parked in a resident’s space to empty a meter, which was later found to be out of order (Let’s slap a fine on this parking contractor, April 4).
Collectors are allowed to park briefly in empty residents’ spaces while carrying out their duties. However, we ask all our contractors to park as considerately as possible, and I hope that happened on this occasion. The meter was inspected later the same day and found to have been blocked by a ticket jam, which was quickly cleared.
We are speaking with our contractors about how best to stop this happening in future.
