We need to get tough
• I am disappointed at the Lib Dems’ failure to back our plans for tough action on serious crime in Islington.
I understand why the Lib Dems want to concentrate on prevention, and our plan has good strong preventative measures in it, but they have to admit we also need tough action to tackle crime as it happens.
If they think proposing more CCTV coverage, more stop-and-search and extra policing is an over-reaction, then they are very wrong.
