Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 15 February 2008

Harassed by rogues

• AS chair of Islington Community Safety Board, I am pleased that police will be establishing a new team in the Nag’s Head and Finsbury Park areas to tackle rogue traders and crime hotspots.
The board has been pressing for action in this area for years. It is clearly a top priority for residents, and for the retail businesses too, which saw trade drop on the days when the illegal traders were out.
People just don’t want to walk round the Nag’s Head area if they are harassed by the traders.
Last year, the board held a meeting with the community in Finsbury Park and it was clear this was the top priority for residents.
I am very pleased that our championing of the community’s concerns has been responded to so effectively.
This new team will make Finsbury Park and the Nag’s Head safer.
Jan Tucker
Chair, Islington Community Safety Board
