BINOCULARS were at the ready as more than 1,000 of the borough’s schoolchildren flocked to catch a glimpse of Islington’s winged inhabitants. The youngsters from 40 schools were counting birds in various parks and green spaces as part of the RSPB’s Big Schools’ Birdwatch.
Councillor Ursula Woolley said: “We have a great deal of wildlife that we’re proud of.”
