Rev. Michael Learmouth

Dean: My role in community

THE Church of England has appointed a new dean of Islington.
The appointment makes the Rev Michael Learmouth, of St Andrew’s Church, Barnsbury, the borough’s most senior C of E clergyman.
Mr Learmouth said: “It is my intention to continue to support the Church of England clergy in the work they do within the Church, and also with the work they do for the wider community. I also hope to foster strong relations with other Christian denominations and faith groups.”
The Right Rev Stephen Oliver, Bishop of Stepney, said: “Michael will bring wide experience, pastoral care and good leadership to our work with the wider community.”
