Robbers knock out victim

AN assault victim knocked unconscious by teenagers had just popped out to buy bread.
The 47-year-old man was attacked outside Hathersage Court, in Newington Green, at about 10.30pm last Wednesday.
Three youths, aged between 17 and 19, hit him over the head with a heavy object when he refused to hand over his mobile phone.
A police spokesman said: “He was knocked unconscious and awoke a few minutes later lying on the pavement, feeling as if he had been severely beaten.
“The victim received a number of bumps to the head, a cut and swollen ear, a badly-bruised eye, a swollen knee and sore kidneys. The victim has since had to attend hospital for treatment to his eye.” The robbers took cash.
