Blitz on knife crime

SEVEN arrests were made during a police operation against knife crime on estates.
Police searched more than 100 young people under extended powers granted for two days last week. The searches form­ed part of an operation, due to finish this week, on Elthorne estate in Archway, Packington estate in Angel, and Tufnell Park.
Four arrests were made for possessing weapons, three of them for carrying knives and one for having a can of CS gas.
