Man dies after falling from N1

A MAN who died after falling from the second floor of the N1 shopping centre, Islington, was named last night (Thursday) as Anthony Fayle.
Mr Fayle, 68, fell from above the Glassworks pub at the centre in Angel at around 8.30pm on New Year’s Day.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at approximately 8.25pm to the address off Liverpool Road to reports of a man who had fallen from a height.
“We sent an ambulance and HEMs air ambulance team in a car. Attempts were made to resuscitate him and he was taken to hospital in a serious condition.”
A witness, who did not wish to be named, said Mr Fayle was well dressed and was seen clinging to an open window before he fell.
Mr Fayle died in the early hours of January 2. An inquest was opened yesterday at St Pancras Coroner’s Court.
A date has yet to be set for a full hearing.
