Call on Iran intervention

LABOUR MP Jeremy Corbyn has called on the government to “oppose publicly any military intervention action by the US and/or Israel in Iran.”
The member for Islington North submitted an early day motion asking the government to recognise that Iran has been certified not to be pursuing any atomic weapons programmes, and that it does not currently present a threat to the UK.
The proposal came together with another motion asking the government to put pressure on Israel to stop the “extrajudicial” killings of civilians in the Gaza strip. Mr Corbyn is the only signatory to both motions.
The move comes amid increasing worries about Iran’s intentions to the west and Israel, alongside its programme of expansive and expensive rearming.
