MP: tax credits ‘too complicated’

MP Emily Thornberry has warned that too many people are missing out on money from child and working tax credits.
The Labour MP for Islington South and Finsbury told a conference at City University that the system was preventing many people from making a claim.
She said: “It looks too complicated.’’
But a HM Revenue and Customs spokesman said: “Take-up is greater than any previous income-related support system.”
