Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 December 2007

How arts can unite

• FOLLOWING your excellent coverage of the recent Connecting Conversations event with author Salley Vickers, I thought readers might like to hear about some other events produced by the Rowan Arts Project.
The project, a charity based in Holloway, aims to bring high-quality arts events to Islington.
The Halloween in Holloway event, enjoyed by several hundred people, was a good example of how the arts can bring people together and transform ordinary places into something magical. We run events, classes and workshops throughout the year.
On Wednesday we’re holding a party at Whittington Park Community Centre to celebrate the unveiling of a beautiful woven tapestry made by the community.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with events and workshops, so if you have a passion for the arts, want to learn some new skills or just want to give some time to a great community cause, do get in touch.
