Defending democracy

• THE council is attempting to push through its plans to “improve” Finsbury Square without even the most basic consultation with its elected members or the public.
Councillor Martin Klute has uncovered this attempt to circumvent democratic procedures, and is demanding that the council gets its plans approved in an open fashion at a public meeting. I fully support his attempts to defend local democracy.
