Switched-on park pitches

FLOODLIT sports pitches were opened yesterday (Thursday) at one of Islington’s biggest parks.
The area at Rosemary Gardens, in Southgate Road, Canonbury, can be used as two five-a-side pitches or a seven-a-side pitch. It will be open until 10pm weekdays and 6pm at weekends.
New changing facilities and nets and markings for the tennis court area have been provided.
Lib Dem leisure chief Councillor Ruth Polling said: “It’s important to have a range of sporting facilities across the borough so all parts of the community can get involved in sport.”
