Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 9 November 2007

Windfall for street

• A resident of Monsell Road, Highbury, has written of the problems caused by ineffective traffic-calming measures (Street’s bad vibrations, November 2).
It was these and other concerns that led the local Green Party to put Monsell Road forward for funding to enable residents to redesign their street.
Happily, our bid was successful and Monsell Road is now one of only 10 streets nationwide to receive funding of some £80,000 from national charity Sustrans.
Local people’s ideas on how to make their street a more pleasant and people-friendly place will form the basis of the new design. Anyone living locally who wants to become involved should contact katie@islingtongreens. org.uk.
