Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 November 2007

What great treatment

• I WOULD like to say a big thank-you to the doctor and staff at Stroud Green Medical Centre. Also a special thank-you to the doctors and staff at Riddell ward of the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead.
Ten days ago my 15-year-old grandson got a boot in his face playing football. He was seen at Whittington Hospital and told it was bruising.
Last Thursday, I noticed a large lump on his face so I took him to his GP, who saw him within 10 minutes. He said it was an abscess and sent us to the Royal Free, where he had arranged for us to see a plastic consultant.
We were seen straight away and told it meant going to theatre and it would be done at 4pm. A bed was found in Riddell ward and the nurses and staff were so nice and explained everything. He was back on the ward at 5.20pm, all done.
He came home that night, with a follow-up appointment. What can I say? Thank you all for everything.
Josie
(A grateful grandmother)
