Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 2 November 2007

Shame of celebrities

• IT is with a mixture of anger and huge disappointment that I read your coverage of the death of Dainton Connell (Tears, cheers and plenty of phwoooarring, October 26).
It is an absolute disgrace to your profession that he should be given such a glorious send-off. The man went out of his way to hurt people simply for having the temerity to support a football team different from his own.
People like him epitomise everything that is wrong about football. The celebrities in your photographs are right to hang their heads. It should be in shame at attending the funeral, not in sorrow.
