Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 12 October 2007

Thrill of antiques

• MANY thanks for the excellent article on Camden Passage (This antiques market could be lost treasure, August 10). They were certainly exciting days.
The interest in antiques comes and goes. When I opened up Camden Passage the enormous publicity it attracted started a huge boom in antiques that lasted for years – until a few bombs, including at King’s Cross, cooled people off.
It will resurge one day in the not-too-distant future. There is nothing like antiques for excitement and education. Someone needs to find a treasure in the Passage, worth a mint and widely publicised.
JOHN PAYTON
Founder of Camden Passage
