Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 5 October 2007

Election mystery

IT was with great interest that I saw that Barbara Coventry has been re-elected to the Homes for Islington board.
When the voting forms were sent out it stated that Ms Coventry ran Popham Street Tenants and Residents Association (TRA). This puzzled me, as there have been no meetings in more than four years.
On contacting Islington Council, I was told that Popham Street does not have a TRA, but if I was interested in starting one I could make an appointment with the council for the necessary details.
I contacted the polling company and said that the information was incorrect. They said it was too late to change anything. Ms Coventry then sent her own “vote for me” leaflet through our doors, again stating she runs the TRA for Popham Street.
I wrote to Ms Coventry, but received no reply, and HfI said it cannot comment on an individual.
If Ms Coventry reads the Tribune, can she please say when the next meeting of the non-existent TRA is?
