Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 September 2007

Pavarotti the Great

• YES, I am in tears to know Luciano Pavarotti the Great is gone.
I know that nobody is eternal, but his songs, his voice (sent from heaven) are inside me forever.
I also want to give my best regards to U2 frontman Bono, who wrote a song for Pavarotti called Sarajevo, and who said that he was not just an opera singer but opera itself.
Many people from all generations are going to discover who this man was, full of talent, humanity, generosity, friendship and so humble.
For me he’s not gone. All his masterpieces are still there, and I’ll always enjoy listening to them again and again. Thank you, Mr Pavarotti.
