Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 14 September 2007

Dangerous dog on run

• TWO years ago I was attacked by a pit bull- type dog which severed the top of my left ring finger. I was taken to hospital and micro-surgery was performed to re-attach it.
Even though the owners and the dog were reported to police and the council no action has been taken against either the dog or the owner. The medical evidence was substantial and there were even witnesses who saw the attack who gave statements to police.
The owner has since bred a litter of pit bull-type pups (keeping a female pup from which to breed further killer dogs) which they have since sold on neighbouring council estates.
Residents have told me that the dog which attacked me has since savagely attacked two other small dogs, causing severe stress to the owners,
The dog can be seen running loose in the area most evenings and the owners, who happen to live in council property, couldn’t care less.
