Couple hit by arsonists vow to go on trading

A DEFIANT shop owner has vowed not to bow to the arsonists who torched her Archway store, after it was set on fire for the second time in six months.
Sadia Subhabi, who owns the Costcutter on Junction Road with her husband said she refused to be intimidated and would re-open in three weeks.
She said: “As soon as I get my loan through we will be up and running again. These people obviously don’t want our business here and want us to suffer.”
Mrs Subhabi also delivered a stinging attack on the police, accusing them of being disinterested.
She said: “I think they are scared of the gangs around here and don’t want to get involved.”
Mrs Subhabi said the police had taken a long time to look through the CCTV footage and had hardly been round to the shop since the fire on August 20.
The store was set ablaze just two days before it was due to re-open, following refurbishment after a similar incident in March.
Police are hunting for two men believed to have started the fire at around 4am after they gained entry to the empty flats above the store.
Anyone with any information should call 020 7421 0350.
