Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 August 2007

Let us have our say

• THE letters pages look like a party political broadcast, with the amount of column inches given to Labour and Liberal Democrat councillors and occasional MPs.
Councillors and MPs have free opportunities to speak in public on issues but the public has no access to any debate on any issue, so the Tribune is one of the few voices we have.
Why should people in political life get so much free propaganda and further their political careers for their own benefit? Why not give equal space to other political parties?
I would assume the Tribune is impartial – you do give a voice to the voiceless like us – but what about people who cannot write or don’t feel confident enough to, like the young or the elderly? Give them a platform.
