Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 24 August 2007

We’ll sort out pitch

• FINSBURY Estate Tenants’ and Residents’ Association has raised the issue of the problems it is facing with the football pitch on the estate (Failings with ‘partnership’, August 17).
As we confirmed in an earlier statement to the Tribune, we are aware of the problem and we have provided all the information we have to the association. I can assure residents there has been no attempt to keep information from them and we are keen to work with them to get this resolved.
The problem has been caused by the standard of work carried out by the building contractor, which we have raised with it. The standard of work is not up the quality either Homes for Islington or the tenants’ and residents’ association would expect and it is the duty of the contractor to put it right.
We have yet to receive a satisfactory response but we are pursuing it, through legal means if necessary, and we will get the problem solved and the damage repaired.
JOHN PHILIPS
Director of property services, Homes for Islington
