Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 17 August 2007

What housing achievements?

• SO it’s hard work and there are no easy fixes. It sounds like Liberal Democrat Councillor Terry Stacey, deputy leader of Islington Council and sitting on an over-inflated executive salary, were nothing more than a local plumber.
Despite not giving us any real evidence in his delirious summary of Liberal Democrat housing achievements, (Tribune Letters, August 10) he goes on to say the government’s promise of £8bn in affordable homes does not amount to anything. Anybody who needs verification of the government’s investment strategy can email housinggreenpaper@ communities.gsi.gov.uk
Cllr Stacey probably ought to think about a new career, though even a plumber has to get some things right sometimes.
Tenants, residents, and business have had to suffer being conned into believing this Lib Dem council is working for them but every week there are more and more complaints (many on your letters pages) of just how many people are suffering from the appalling blunders of Cllr Stacey and his executive pals.
TIM CLARK
Chairman Clerkenwell ward Islington South and Finsbury Labour Party, N1
