Deaf link up to GPs

A HIGH-TECH internet system that uses a web camera link-up will bring deaf patients face-to-face with their GPs.
SignHealth means the deaf can “chat” to their doctor using a keyboard instead of struggling with sign language at the surgery. Charity Sign, piloting the scheme, hopes it will slash waiting times. It has also designed a text message appointments reminder system. Go to www.signhealth.com
