Families flock to mayor’s picnic as event proves to be a big hit

AN INVITATION to the Mayor’s picnic was too good an offer for many Holloway families to miss – and it lived up to expectations.
The sounds of the steel band and the promise of pot-making, weaving, face painting and lots more drew more than 100 people into the Royal Northern Gardens, off Manor Road, on Monday afternoon.
The special children’s day in the park (recently green-flagged for excellence) also featured activities from Access Sport, an opportunity to meet police officers and storytelling.
It is the first mayor’s picnic of its kind, and by the looks of it, it won’t be the last.
