“Stub it out’ message for messy smokers

THREE of Islington’s worst spots for smoking-related rubbish have been named.
Angel, the Nag’s Head in Holloway and Finsbury Square in Finsbury have more problems with discarded cigarette butts and chewing gum than anywhere else in the borough.
As the ban on lighting up in pubs and restaurants forces smokers onto the street, Islington Council has installed 104 special butt-and-gum bins on lampposts.
Smokers who throw away cigarette ends face an on-the-spot fine of up to £80.
