Cops train for beat

VOLUNTEERS are being sought to train rookie police officers.

The cops will still attend the Met training college in Hendon but an initiative aims to give them a better understanding of the community they will serve.
Islington police want people to help with role plays based around a range of scenarios, including shoplifting, robbery, drunkenness, stop-and-search, drugs searches and domestic violence.
Anyone interested in participating should call Sergeant Mel Ravat on 07899 967749
or email melvyn.ravat@met. police.uk
