Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 13 July 2007

Any ideas for Emily?

• CONGRATULATIONS should go to our own Meg Hillier and Mary Creagh for their promotion to roles in the government at the last reshuffle.
Commiserations to Emily Thornberry, however, but having failed to achieve advancement Emily now appears to be making government policy on her own.
On her website she boasts that Gordon Brown is considering changing polling day to the weekend “following a suggestion by Emily Thornberry”.
This refers to a recent pamphlet where she suggests that Thursday might not be the best day for people to vote.
Perhaps Emily could bring her influence to bear on other major issues, and I invite your readers to send in their suggestions.
