Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 8 June 2007

Let’s be proud of Nag’s Head

THANK you to those who halted the go-ahead for the gambling establishment on the corner of Holloway Road and Seven Sisters Road in what is the landmark Nag’s Head building.
I was so pleased to read about the intention to upgrade the appearance of the A1 and assumed that Holloway would start to benefit from some tasteful developments.
I have three teenage children, who naturally I worry about. To add an arcade of this size, and in such a prominent position, in an already challenging area would seem to show at best a lack of foresight and at worst a complete disregard for residents.
The Nag’s Head building is an opportunity to create a landmark for residents to be proud of and to inspire more visitors to enjoy what Holloway has to offer. I look forward to seeing a new occupant, maybe a beautiful café with a roof terrace to enjoy the view of the newly-improved A1.
CAROL FLETCHER
Roden Street, N7
