Islington Tribune - LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
Published: 18 May 2007

How long must I wait for green bin?

• I THOUGHT Islington Council was supposed to be encouraging residents to recycle?
Our green recycling bin was stolen in March and, despite repeated calls to the recycling department, we have not been sent a replacement.

Twice I have been promised a bin within 10 days, but have also been told on two occasions that it is not possible to send us a bin as we are not eligible.
This despite the fact we have had a bin for two years. Most residents in our block have boxes which are emptied every week.
I offered to come and collect one, but this is “not allowed”. Residents who wish to recycle should be encouraged, not prevented from doing so.
